Mr. Meagher, Chairman of Committees in tho New South Wales State Assembly, claimed .£2OOO damages against Colonel Onslow, another member of the Assembly, for alleged slander during the Liverpool I'lains by-election campaign. Mr. Meagher complained that defendant at a public meeting said the Labour party selected a criminal as Chairman of Committees.
