it has been slated in some quarters that the straggling lambing -in Hawke's Bar this season is due to the disease "facial eczema." Kcakcs, chief veterinarian, who stated that practically no cases of facial eczema were reported from ilaii-ko s Bay last year and that in fact, this affection is causing very little trouble anywhere, no doubt owing to tile feeding ■conditions provided. Tho cause will require to be looked for in some other direction.
