EXPORT OF APPLES.

KEW SOUTH WALES PROSPECTS. The prospects of the apple crop this season arc/so good, says Mr. W. J. Allen, Government Fruit Expert, . New South "Wales,, thii.t it. will ho ,-t great pity if growers depciul too much upon the local market. Mr. Allen considers that tho larger Growers should make an effort at oueo to obtain space f;>v the export of'at least a portion of their crop to London, Germany, and America. There is going to l;u such a crop nil over the Commonwealth, on present appearances, that prices will nut he nearly so. good as they have .been of late years. By e.\r porting, growers will gain an idea of how their fruit will carry. The Department of Agriculture, says Mr. Allen, is trying to arrange for tho shipment of 1000 or 5000 cases from the State orchards to various oversea markets, though it is doubtful if space can be obtained for America. It is interesting to note that in Canada the import (liity on apples is Is. OUI. per barrel (equal to three bushels), in the United Slates Is. lljd. per bushel, and in Germany 2s. lid. per ew.t.

. The Stock Division of the Xew Zealand Agricultural Department, has, says the "Age," purchased four Lincoln fleeces from Mr. William Perry, of Masterton, for exhibition at a forthcoming exposition in the United States. A. suggestion has also been made, that fleeces from Mr. Perry's (lock he exhibited at (he Boyal Show in England, to show how the English wools hare improved under colonial treatment*
