Mr. Unrlstone, of Aslihurst, lias kn appointed manager of the ncwly-crected cheese factory at Mnnakau. Jt is lo he opened about Tuesday or Wednesday next. Manakau now lias a lady hairilresser, the first and only one in that district. Potato-growing is being carried out extensively in this district, and one grower has some forty acres under cultivation, while other 'growers also have largo areas. Up till the jirc£cnt_ very littlo "sign of blight has been noticeable, and some record crops arc likely.
