SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Proscnt indications aro heavy westerly gale in parts, vcerinz to southerly winds strong to heavy gale everywhere, after from ten to sixteen hours. Rain is probable generally, and much colder weathor, with 6now on high lands in south. Heavy seas probablo on all western coast, and increasing shortly southward of Castlcpoint. A rising barometer is due after 15 hours. Westerly storm area, which had controlled weather conditions for fortnieht. has continued, with increasing intensity to-day, and barometer at Bluff this afternoon records pressure ■of 28.9 inches.
