SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Proscnt indications aro heavy westerly gale in parts, vcerinz to southerly winds strong to heavy gale everywhere, after from ten to sixteen hours. Rain is probable generally, and much colder weathor, with 6now on high lands in south. Heavy seas probablo on all western coast, and increasing shortly southward of Castlcpoint. A rising barometer is due after 15 hours. Westerly storm area, which had controlled weather conditions for fortnieht. has continued, with increasing intensity to-day, and barometer at Bluff this afternoon records pressure ■of 28.9 inches. November 14.—Fairly fino fresh westerly brceic. Palmcrston, Novembor 14.—Heavy rain fell during; the night and all to-day ; a gale has been blowing. Shannon, November 14.—The weather continues cold and windy. Otaki. November 14.—Fine, but windy. Feathcrston, November 14.—Overcast; gusty north-west wind. Carterton, November 14.—The weathor continuec fine, but a stiff wind prevailed on Tuesdo7. Maslerton, November 14.—The Rev. A. Hodge reported'at 6 o'clock to-night for the preceding 24 honre as follows:—Temp. in shade, ma.x. 67deg., min. <9.2deg., mean 58.1deg.; earth radiation. 43dcg.; earth temperature (Ift. below surface), 46.5d0g.; wind, moderato gale.
