The committee set up by the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce to push forward the matter of tho Wanganui-Raetihi railway met last evening, and decided to communicate with the Raetihi Progressive Association and other local "bodies, with a vievi to making joint representation to the Government, as to tho need of a survey being immediately made. It was decided also to put a question to all political candidates as to whether they favoured the proposed railway, and whether they would press on tho Government the necessity of constructing it from both ends.
