Mr. Arthur Henderson, Independent Labour JI.P. for Barnard Castlo, Durham, declares that tho refusal of the railway companies to meet tho men and discuss tho finding of the Royal Commission is against tho spirit, even against the letter, of the report. Mr. Henderson at the same time, challenged the men's assertion that recognition of tho unions had not been granted, and warned Ihcm that if they rejeoted tho report they would estrange public support. COALMINERS' WAGES. London, November 12. The coalowners' representatives on the Coal Conciliation Board for England and North Wales, have agreed to tho principle of a minimum wage, which will be referred to local districts, which will be asked to report by December G. LORD ASHTON'S WORKMEN. London, November 12. A mass meeting of Lord Ashton's workmen adopted a resolution expressing ap. prcciation of Lord Ashton's consideration when trade was depressed. STRIKES IN NEW YORK. New York, November 12. _ A general teamsters' strike is threatened in New York. The street-cleaners are also striking against tho collection of garbage at night"
TROUBLE AT FREMANTLE. Fremantle, November 13. Thirty seamen anil firemen on the Adelaide C.S. Co.'s -steamer Koombana refused duty, demanding that the chief steward should leave the ship. A mooting of the Seamen's Union endorsed the strike. A telegram from tho Sydney Seamen's and Firemen's Union advised the men to resume work, but they decline to do so nntil the steward has been removed. Ninety employees at Hudson's wagon works have struck for an advance of a shilling a day. ADVICE DISREGARDED. Sydney, November 13. A meeting of the striking wool-scour-ers at Botany voted against tho union officials' advice to resume work pending negotiations. MOUNT LYELL LOSSES. Melbourne, November 13. Though tho Mount Lyell miners have signed the agreement, the engine-drivers have not yet signed. They aro eipected to sign to-day. During the striko the men lost thirtyflvo thousand pounds in wages. DRIVERS' STRIKE ENDED. (Rec. November 11, 0.15 a.m.) Melbourne, November 13. The Mount Lyell engine-drivers have signed tho agreement, atwl tho striko is ended.
