MILK FEVER.
Mr. Donald Rait, M.K.C.V.S., write? as follows:—"In my recent address at Levin, it iv.t not my intention to convey the idea that, 'milk fever , in cows was duo to Hie direct absorption of the butter-fat into the system, but that cows yielding a high bultor-i'at test arn undoubtedly more prone to ho affected in this manner than those whose milk is of poorer quality. As a matter of fact, the etiology of this condition is obscure, but the highest authorities aro inclined to the theory that the symptoms may probahiv be tho result of an absorbed toxin acting upon tho central nervous system."
