(By Tolccraph.—Prcn Association.) Duncdin, November 11. The- General Assembly of Hie Presbyterian Church decided lliis morning to invito Jfr. Lanehu, tho Chinese Consul, upon his risit to Duncdin on Holiday, to attend the sitting of the Assembly aiid address tho House. Mr. Albert Wright, of ICnox College, and of thn Assembly s Theological lfall, has been appointed by Urn Viclorian Presbyterian Church to a missiou in Korea.

There was considerable discussion about a proposition to give the Jliori Mission the power to confer with Iho Board of Properties re possible, disposal of a. Maori Mission f.'ivin nf 200 nert's at Mananui, in order to develop the boys' school proposal. Tho proposal was agreed to. Tho annual meeting of tho Now Zealand Presbyterian branch of the Laymen's Missionary Movement was hold last night. The annual report stated that branches were in existence in tho prcsbrtcrius ot Dunedin, Cliristchurch, Wellington, Clntha, and Tarnnaki, In the presbvtcnes of llawko's Bav, Gisborne, Piilmerston North, and Oainnru congregational branches liavo boon formed. Tho movement has been very active in Cliristchureh. On tho motion of Mr. ,T. Mitchell (Clirislchurcli), seconded by Mr. J. Craig (Napier), the report was unanimously adopted. Mr. W. M. Hnnnny (Wellington) was elected president for the ensuing year, and Mr. L. L. .?aul (■Wellington) secretnr.i, ]l, was deuided io recommend tho council to consider (ho difficulties of tho branches under no Presbyterian association, and to make provision for their representation on the council. An address on "The Dutv of Lnvmnn to tho Church" was delivered by Mr. Goss (Christrhnrch), and Mr. V. Mill, who lias just been accepted by tho Presbyterian Church for mission work, spoko on tho student volunteer movement and its appeals to the Christian Church.
