Sate of Work at Karori. A sale of work, under the auspices of tj{? Guild, opened in the Parochial Hall at Karori on Wednesday, Mrs. J. P. Luke performing the opening ceremony. The stall? were under the management of the members of the guild, assisted by the Young Ladies' Biblo Class. Excellent business was done, and a great many pec-ple were present. The Men's Bible Class conducted tho side-shows. Miss Carter, of. the Terrace, gave an exhibition of paper-bag cookery, and pleasure was also given by tho Central Mission Band, which played several bright selections. The sale was concluded last evening, and the amount realised is to be derated to the fund for tho Methodist Church, shortly to be built at Karori. Wedding at Fcathersfon.

The marriage of Mr. G. AY. Iloldcroft, son of Mr. G. 11. Iloldcroft, of Tauherinikati, to Miss Eva Lawrv, youngest daughter of the lato Mr. Thos. Lawry, took placo in the Methodist Church, Leathersion, on Wednesday, the Rev. E. C. Roberts officiating. The brido was given away by her brother, Mr. George Lawry, and the bridesmaid was Miss Octavia Yclvorton, niece of the bride. Mr. James I'iiyard was groomsman. The pride's dress was of cream silk with silk insertion, aud she carried a shower bouquet of carnations, sweet peas, and mai-den-hair ferns. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Beetham (Brancepeth) are in town, and are staving at the Royal Oak. Miss Cameron, who has been over on a visit to Sydney, arrived in Wellington °n : Wednesday, and has gone on to her home at Greytown. On Wednesday afternoon at Trinity Church, Newtown, the marriage took place of Miss L. Handley, eldest daughter of the late Mr. W. Handlev, of Birnsdjile, Victoria, and Mr. A. H. Miles, eldest son of Mr. A. H. Miles of this city. Tho Rev. J. AVard was the officiating minister. Admiral William H. Henderson (retired), accompanied by his daughter, arrived in Auckland at tho beginning of the week. They intend touring the Dominion. llr. F. J. Nathan and Mrs. Nathan (Palmerston) are leaving next week on d visit to Eotorua.
