AORANGI ARRIVES.
Shortly before 11 p.m. yesterday R.M.S. Aorangl arrived at Wellington from Ban Francisco, via Papeete and Jtarotonga, TUo vessel camo up to licr berth at No. 1 Queen's Wharf north, and was cleared alongside by the l'ort Health Ofllooi' (Dr. l r oUeu).
A report of the voyage states that tho Aorangl left San Fiunclsoo on October 18. at 1.30 p.m., and arrived at Papeoto at 3 p.m. on Octobor 3u. After having discharged and loaded cargo, she loft again for liaivitonga at 0 a.m. on tho following morning and arrived tlioro at 10.50 a.m. on November 2. At the latter port a largo quantity of fruit and general cargo w taken aboard, departure for Wellington being taken at 6.30 p.m. on the sanio day. I'ino weather, with modornte trado winds, wis experienced until tho Aorangl left Earotonga. As soon as she cleared tho island port the vespol encountered westerly gales, accompanied by heavy head eca«, and those greatly retarded her progress on the llnal stage of tho journey. The Aorangl's cargo consists ot about 1400 tons of general cargo told 150 tons of transhipments for London. Tho following is a summary of the Wellington portion:—lo cattle, 3 autos, 31 cases poriodicnls, 2910 boxes pnmjs, 1083 boxes canned fruits, 2455 boxes raisjna, W0 crates onions, 25 barrels oil, <8 cases pa.int s quantity of fresh fruit and genera lcargo. At midnight the work of discharging tho vessel wati commenced, and it is hoped to dispatch the eleaiuer tor Lyttclton this evening, where she will bo docked for cleaning and paintiug. The Aorangl returns to Wellington at the hegfniiing of next week, and leaves here for Sun Francisco on Friday, Koyombcr 11.
