PROHIBITION.
AN AUSTRALIAN VIEW. By Telesraph—Press Asgociation-Oopyvight Sydnoy, November 9. The "Sydney Morning Herald," commenting on the New Zealand prohibition movement, says: "Tho absolute closing of the bars would be a good thing. There is, perhaps, little doubt it would bo but a useless legislative advance of public opinion, and would involve a gravo social evil, if the prohibitionists had their way. Let the prohibitionists convert the rest of the people if they can, but if they cannot the imposition of their ideal becomes a social tyranny, sure to be bitterly resented, and provoke a reaction which in tho long run would bo fatal to progross."
