ANGLICAN CHURCH CONGRESS.

1 BISHOP OF LONDON TO VISIT A U.S'J'KALfA. Tho next Australian Church Congress (Anglican) is to be held in Brisbane in .September, l'Jl.l. The congress itself will bo a notable event, but nows which has just been received from Kngland gives it an additional and unique importance. Tho Brisbane "Cliruch Chronicle" fays that some months ago the Archbishop (Dr. Donaldson) wrote to the Bishop of London to inquire whether there were any possibility of his Lordship attending the congress, and giving to the. Church in Australia tho benefit and stimulus of f>uch a visit as he has already paid lo the Church in Canada, in America, and in other parts of tho Anglican Communion outside the Motherland. It was naturally impossible for so important an official of the Home Church to answer this request straight away, but the Bishop promised to consider tho matter and to give a definite answer later on. That definite answer has now been received, and it is to the effect that the Bishop of London has given a conditional promiso to visit Brisbane for the congress, leaving Loudon for that purpose on August 1, 1913. The promise has to be conditional, for it is of course always possible that great events might happen in England which would inevitably detain the Bishop at ill's headquarters. But there is no special reason to anticipate such happenings, and the Australian Church may count with somo confidence upon tho Bishop being able to fulfil his promise.
