Interest is increasing in Hie coming boxing contest between "Billy" Elliott and j-'rauk i'itzjohn, which, is to take place at tho iown lia.ll on Tuesday next, l<'itzjoha arrived from Sydney yesterday, and looks well. He is aceo'mmmeid by "bid , Sullivan's brother, who will act as trainer. Both are staying at tho New Zealander Hotel, and i'itzjohn will do his sparring at Murphy's gymnasium in Manners Street. When I'itzjohn boxed here as au amateur in 1907, he was in u class by himself among Australian ban-tam-weights, and wns, in consequence, selected to represent .Mew South Wales in tho feather-weights. Ho was beaten by Elliott. Since joining tho prol'c.-isional ranks, Fitzjohn. has. always been in the front rank ot-Australian feather-weights. His numerous matches include a victory over "Tommy" Han'.ey, while ho has boxed a draft , - with -"Teddy" Green, and has also won and lost to tho same pugilist. Ho has twice beaten "Doaler" Wells while, of four professional matches with Elliott, tho first was drawn, tho nest two Fitzjohn won, and tho other was won by lilliott. llis latest victory wasover "Jimmy" Hill, who is now to meet tho Australian champion Russell. All tho contests mentioned went twenty rounds.

Elliott, who arrived via Auckland on Tuesday night, has already commenced work at Tracy's gymnasium. Since he left here three years ago, Elliott has been in a large number of matches iu Australia. He ha> encountered "Dealer" Wells and "Toddy" Gre«ii, each five times, winning the majority of those contests. Ho- lost to "Sailor" Duffy in twonty rounds, hut defeated Hanley in eleven rounds, O'Grady five rounds, Lo Brees, nine rounds, "'Sailor" Carpenter fourteen rounds. When Elliott first met "Sid." Sullivan ho lost in the eighth round, but subsequently won the Australian championship from Sullivan in twenty rounds. He then twice successfully defended the titlis against "Joe." Russell, of Brisbane, but at the third meeting Rnssell won, and is still champion. Elliott's latest bouts were losses to Frank Thorn and "Kid" jU'Coy in Melbourne, both contests going U>c° full twenty rounds. M'Coy is a. promising Victorian light-weight, and a wireless message, received on the Moana 6talx>s that, on Saturday, he defeated "Jack" littid, formerly amateur light-weight champion of Australia. After the contest with Fitzjohn, Elliott is willing to accept further matches in the Dominion, and Fitzjohn has expressed his willingness to stay to meet Frank O'Grady in the event of his d<stenting Elliott. He intends to be back in Sydney, however, early in December.
