According to an cthcrgram received from the Union Company's steamer Aorangi last night, the vessel is meeting with weather on the run down from San Francisco. She is not expected to arrive at Wellington before 8 p.m. to-morrow. ROTORUA AT MONT.E VIDEO. Word has reached Wellington that tha New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.&. Rotorua arrived at Monte Video on Monday. The steamer left Wellington on October 19, and has cut the distance out in the smart timo of 18 days. AORANGI DOCKS AT LYTTELTON. As soon as tho Union Company's R.M.S. Aorangi gets clear of her cargo at Wellington this trip, she will proceed to Lyttelton to be docked. The vessel then returns to Wellington, and leaves here for Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco on Friday, November 17. The Aorangi is due from San Francisco to-morrow afternoon, MOANA ARRIVES AT 3 P.M. At 9.30 p.m. yesterday the Moana, which is en route from Sydney to Wellington, advised by wireless that it was expected to make port at 3 p.m. to-day. In continuance of tho custom, which hag been followed by intercolonial vessels arriving at Wellington lately, nho will bo cleared by the Port Health Officer alongside her berth at No. 1 Queen's Wharf north. CLAN OGILVY IN BAD WEATHER. An arrival in port from Bunbury, via Port Kembla and Newcastle, yesterday was the Scales chartered steamer Clan Ogilvy. On the run across from Newcastle, at which nprt she took in bunker coal, the vessel mot with some very dirty weather. From Friday until Sunday the decks wore continually awash. During this time the oiliccrs' cabins and, in fact, all the quarters, wcro flooded. On Friday the glaas fell as low as 29.22, and on Sunday it was down to 29.20. The wind was not very violent during tho three days, hut what is described as a mountainous sea was running. With the exception of some damage to No. 5 hatch, the Clan Ogilvy weathered the storm well. Her Wellington cargo consists of 36,(10 feet of jarrah timber, and tho remainder is for Napier and Opoua. WHAKATANE, FROM MONTREAL. Early yesterday morning the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s steamer Whakatane arrived at Wellington from Liverpool, via way ports, and berthed at the King'e Wharf to discharge. Tho vessel left Montreal on August 22, and arrived at Melbourne on October 14. Having discharged cargo at the latter port, the Whakatano next visited Sydney and Auckland, in turn, and arrived in port as above. Fine weather generally prevailed throughout tho voyago. Captain l[. TURNED TO AGAIN. Yesterday afternoon the Government Shipping Offico staff were kept busy "signing on" officers and crows on the various vessels of the coastal fleet,, and by the evening several of the licet, which had been tied up on account of the mates' dispute, got away to sea. Other vessels will leave port to-day. By the Navua, which at Auckland from Suva on Monday night, 10,CW bunches and 4400 cases of bananas came to hand. The vessel is due at Wellington on Friday. Accordin? to the ''New Zealand Herald" the well-known auxiliary schooner Wai : apu has been sold to the North New Zealand Coal and Cement Co. of Whangarei It is intended to employ the schooner to carry coal from Whungarci to Auckland. Captain A. Wallace, formerly of the Waihora, has joined the Atuu temporarily, in place of Captain Smith, who took command of her for one trip. Captain A. Carson is in command of tho Waihora, Mr. G. Thorpe, who wa,s successful in his examination for his master's certificate, has joined the Kowhia, and Mr. J. 11. Clark, whose place he took, has come ashore for instructions. Captain E. »S. She left the Home port on September 19, and called at Cape Town and Sydney en route. At 7.50 a.m. yesterday the Government steamer llincmoa arrived at Caetlcpornt. Although tho weather was not very good, she was able to work "the Point." On Monday next the Union Company's steamer Koonya will leave Wellington lor New Plymoutn and West Coast ports, in her usual running. In practically every instance'the original captains and mates have gono back to their respective ships. Captain M'lntosh, late of the Arapawa, the lirsi vessel to do a trip to Wanganui, has joined the Mana, and Captain Oorby has taken charge of his old ship. Mr. A. Thompson is mate of the Arapawa. Mr. Joiuiriscn is mate of tho Mana. Captain Uioucher takes charge of the Kiripaka. To-day the Gertie, Malta, llauaroa, Kapiti, and Wakatuvili tigji on crews. In consequence of these steamers working uftigo, the vanoua wharves had guile a busy appearance,'and things were as t):cy were hefura tho "hold up." At 10 a.m. yesterday the Ajahura took her departure from Westport for Nelson, Picton, and Wellington. Mie is expected to arrive hero between 9 aaid 10 o'clock this evening. To-morrow, the ITaapiri is expected at Wellington from Greymouth,' via Picton. She leaves on tho same day for ii-ast Coast bays aud ports, and Auckland. It will be Thursday now before tho Union Company's steamer To Anau will leave Wellington for West Coast ports. On Saturday the Kaiapoi is expected at Wellington with a cargo of 2C'J,WO feet of timber from • Greymouth. Pan of the shipment will be ciifccharsed here, and pa it at Lytic! ton. About November 21 the Union Company's steamer Kurow is to load coal at Newcastle for Wellington. Captain AUsop, who is in the employment of the Canterbury Steamship Co., left 4 for the south by the Mararoa last evening. He takes command of the steamer Storm. A Pj'ess Association telegram received from Lyttelton last evening states that the Mnoriland Steamship Oo.'s steamer Holmdale has been ' rccoinmissioned, and has Bailed for Greymouth. The Canterbury Steamship Co.'s steamer Breeze saita today for the came port.
