NO-LICENSE.

—« . "No-License" was the subject of au address by the Rev. R. B. S. Hammond at the Sydney Street Schoolroom last evening. l'rolesbor Easterlield occupied the chair. Tho speaker handled his subject in an interesting manner, and it was apparent from the outset that ho would sustain the attention of the audience. But he would remind those present that man was God's properly. As continuance injured man, did they not think that their first duty was to • God, and that their chief endeavour should be to try to save his property? He next proceeded to deal with tlw state of certain towns before and after No-License, and lie alarmed that tlioso towns prospered belter under No-License than under license. It had been affirmed bv the opponents that nmbr Xo-Tkmso Iho actual value of the hotels would decrease.; To refute thin he staled that in a certain No-Licon* district the actual number of accommodation houses had been increased, and, in some now building, there was actiiallv no provision being made for a bar in iho event of continuance being carried. Mr. Hammond addresses a, meeting at the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, tonight.
