GERMAN VIEW.
ITALY GROSSLY UNDERESTIMATING THE JOB IN HAND. Lieutenant-Colonel von Ruedgisch, German instructor of Turkish cavalry under Abdul Ilamid, who has also trained a large proportion-of Arab troops in Tripoli, informed the "National 'Zeitung'.' in September that Italian advance into inland Tripoli was practically impossible, there was only one caravan route, and the scanty wells would be poisoned immediately. "The Arabs," he says, "fight likedemons, and will die fighting." Another German artillery instructor says the Turks have first-rato Ivrupp Runs in Tripoli, and know how to use .?{"• . T . ho Italians may land, but they will rejoin their ships quicker than is pleasant for them. Numerous interviews with German instructors of Turkish troops all repeat the same view that the Italians are grossly underestimating the enemy. Colonel von iitieagisch adds that Italy will lose far rnore by the boycott of her goods in Turkey than she can ever hope to gain from inpoli. Hie only intelligent thing to clo, ho says mockingly, is to construct the long promised desert sanatorium, and guns were not deeded for that. All Italian gendarmerie officers in the 1 urkisli service have beon recalled, and leave Constantinople to-day.
