RICCARTON WORK., TIMES IN THE FINAL GALLOPS, AND GENERAL FORM. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Christchurch, November 2. A laTge crowd was present on tho courso this morning to witness the final gallops of tho horses engaged at the Cup meeting. The weather was beautifully line, and as the plough track had been watered during tho night, conditions wero all in favour of fast times, and some interesting work resulted. Tnonhauser war. the first out, but only did half-pace work. Medallist ran five furlongs in lmin. 5 4-ssec., and Effort and Ebonite covoTcd the fame distanco' in lmin. 3 4-ssec. Ermongrarde, on tho grass, went four furlongs in 50 l-sscc., and Dazzling easily beat Colleen Mary over an extra furlong in lmin. 3 2-ssoc.

Prim (light-weight) was resjionsiblo for a mile and a half gallop, which she accomplished in 2min. 42 3-ssce. She went very well throughout, and- covered tho last half-mile in 53 l-ssec.

Masterpiece (F. E. Jones) and Counterfeit (C. Emerson) were companions in a milo and a quarter gallop, which they accounted for in 2min. 14sec. The former had all the worst of tho weights, but held the filly' safo at the finish. Jlarhno (light-weight) put up a nico performance by getting to tho end of a mile and a half in. 2min. il l-ssec., finishing well. Hawick and Espnrtero ran a milo and a quarter together in 2min. 17sec., and Crosbio rattled over six furlongs in lmin. 17sec.

Ideality ran four furlongs in 52sec., and. Oratava, Pert, and Rose Noblo left six furlongs behind in Imin. lDJsec. Nyland, assisted by Bronze' over tho last five furlongs, ran three-quarters of a mile in lmin. 17 2-ssec.

Big Blast galloped six furlongs in lmin. •19 l-ssec., and Corry and Miss Fry took lmin. 20 2-ssec". to negotiate the same journey. Los Angeles (W. Lowe) was next sent over tho same, distance, and put up an excellent gallop by cutting out the ten furlongs in 2min. 11 3-ssec. The Cup horse maintained a nice even pace all through, and finished in great style. Boanerges sprinted down the straight, and Gipsy Belle and Dearest covered six furlongs in lmin. 19sec. _ Milo and Gold Pin left a mile behind in lmin. 4!) sec., and Battalion and Troon covered six furlongs in lmin. 22 2-sscc. Labour Day, moving nicely, ran six fdriongs in lmin. 17 2-ssec., and Somersault did a good gallop over a mile. .Flambeau ran six furlongs in lmin. 17 Wmc„ and Whito Flag galloped half a mile in 52 3-ssec.

Coroniform covered the last nine furlongs of a mile and quarter gallop in lmin. 59 3-ssec., and Nithsdale and Avarice reeled off five furlongs in lmin. 3 2-ssec.

St. Felix and. St. Petersburg were responsible for running tho last" seven of eight furlongs in lmin, 31sec., and Genius sprinted three furlongs. Turna galloped five furlongs in lmin. Glsec., and Kirnona and All Guns ran tho Game distance in lmin. ■! 4-ssec. Sapience easily beat Ahuapai over four fuljongs in 513-ssec., and Early Morn and Nikon accomplished a similar task in 51 't-osec.

St. Aidan-'-beat 'Aunt Sally over nine njriongs which was accounted for in lmin. 59sec., and St. Toney and Longstep wero companions in a six-furlong gallop which was loft behind in lmin. 17 l-sscc. San Lass and another left six furlongs behind in lmin. 19sec., and Tho Cornet did a useful task.

North Polo and Tangbroa went six furlongs m lmin. 19sec„ and Mulga Biil (Ji. Lowe) finished a mile and a quarter gallop in 2min. 17 9 sc. Gold Battery sprinted tiro furlongs, and Morecambe beat Outward over sev-en furlongs in lmin. 30 2-ssec. , Fauuus and Ainsdale ran five furlongs 4 2-ssec., and Armstrong, who got the best of tho start, beat Kilts over six furlongs, the Inst five being run in lmm. i 2-osec.'

After breakfast a large number of two-year-olds were exercised at the barrier on ..the course proper, and tho majority sprintsd to the winning post. Quarantino beat Wenfmnan over lour furlongs in k' to and Red and the Count witte—Pojnsettia gelding took Slsec. Peppin and Art took 50 3-ssec., and Brown Uwl and Scottish Star took 49 2-ssec to ruh tho samo distance. Massilia beat Lourdts and Martian Maid over the same journey in SOsec., and Beldame was several lengths ahead of Peg and Nyx as the post v.-as reached in 49sec. Fisticuff and Susa galloped six furJongs on the plough in lmin. 19sec., aud Peach Pie easily beat Mercedo over four furlongs in 52 2-sscc. Kohinoor easily beat Nightlight over .seven furlongs in lmin 32 2-ssec., and 1 awky Lass sprinted three furlongs on tho tan in 37sec.
