ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETE. Our correspondent writes"Preparations for the big event are now piuc.ticully complete, and. already the purebred classes of stock are beginning to roach Palmerston in anticipation of the contest. From present appearances, line weather is expected, though the last week or two lias been very unsettled. The decision to open tho "halls and side-shows in the evenings has attracted a largo number of peripatetic showmen, plenty of fun aud amusement being guaranteed. The grounds are looking particularly well, being in splendid hear}, after the recent rains. Turnstiles are tho latest improvement amongst many others effected by the committee. Tho secretary Olr. Yv. T. Penny) is having a strenuous time, and is very hard put to it to find accommodation for the prospective visitors who have neglected to look ahead in this direction. The catalogue now in print consists of some 210 pages, and contains plenty of interesting matter for both sightseers and exhibitors. The Railway Department has completed all plans for coping with the rush, and, taken by and large, it looks r.s it Palmerston North was going to put up another -record."
