Iho heavy rain, which fell on Friday night, rendered the plough track unlit for work, and all th-j gallops on Saturday woie accomplished on the grass and tali ' tracks. J'lio weather at five o'clock was cold but fine, and very lialo wind was • mowing. ■ Dazzling and Colleen Marv were tho first out, and (hoy covered tiro furlongs • in Inun. 5 i-oscc. ! Masterpiece and Counterfeit wore next sent over a mile and a quarter, which , they accounted for in 2inin. 1C Msec., OutlandfT running tho fame distance in 2min. 21 2-ssee. Rose Noble easily beat . Miss Fry in a mile gallop which took Imm. i'Jsec. to complete. Alexis and Ideality left five furlongs behind in lmin. 7 .2-tecc. Madam Madcap and Countermine lvgisteied a good performance by running six furlongs in lmin. 17sec„ and Crosbie boat Sea King over the same distance, taking lmin. Msec, to complete the journey. Milo u'.v. given a good working gallop, and Orafava and Battalion sprinted six furlongs in lmin. 20 4-ssec. Nilhsdale and Avarice were, companions in a mile gallop which occupied lmin. 45 3-sscc., and N.vland galloped onco round at a good pace. Bliss was responsible for leaving fix furlongs behind "in lmin. 20m'., and' Master Paul did a useful gallop. Tannhausor and Crourfadt left a mile and a quarter behind in 2niin. COpcc., the former finishing in front. Los Angeles was iwxt sent for a mile and a half gallop, and, moving well, cut out the distance in 2min. 43sec., the first mile taking lmin. 4!).-ec. to cover. rCeatherbrao ran five furlongs in lmin. C 1-5,-oc. Hawick (n. Colter) did a schooling task over eight flights of hurdles. Flambeau got to the end of seven furlongs in lmin. 355? c., Pilgrim's Way taking lmin. 33soc. for tho same distance. Gipsy Belle's task was a gallon over five furlongs, which she accomplished in lmin. C Msec., and More More easily beat Foam Flake over the same distance in lmin. 0 l-ssec. Ki'ostcri had tho hotter of Bronze at the end of a mile, which was left Ijehind in lmin. 535"c., and Coroniform and (Juery got to the end of the same distance in lmin. 46soc.—a good performance. The Cornet easily boat North Pole in a five furlong sprint, which occupied lmin. 5 4-ssec. I'ett ran nine furlongs in 2iuiu. G sec. Genius and St. Aidan galloped a mile in lmin. st?ec. Formby and Miscount left six furlongs bi-hind in good style. Dearest spurted down tho straight, and Oka and another strode over four furlongs in 52 2-ssec.— a task that Eaglestone and Rockferrv completed in 53 l-ssec. Martine (light-weight), Goldfinder (E. Griffin), and Prim (C. Emerson) were then sent for a mile and a half gallop, and reeled off the first half mile in 52 1-5 sec., six furlongs in lmin. 20 l-5??c., a milo in lmin. Ulsee., and completed tho distance in 2min. 44see. The throe New Zealand Cup candidates finished un their task together, but Prim seemed to finish just a trifle better than the other pair. Outward, Ainsdale, a.nd Morocainbo ran six furlongs in lmin. 20sec. All Guns sprinted four furlongs up tho bock in 52sec. Mulga Bill and another covered seven furlongs in lmin. 35sec., while Amalgam took lmin. 8 3-ssec. to cover five furlongs. Expansion ran four furlongs up the back in 54 l-ssec., and St. Felix ran the last five of six furlongs in lmin. 7 2-sscc., while Merrio Frank (fid a working gallop. A large number of others were given light tasks, these including the majority of tho horses that arrived yesterday. The course proper was thrown" open for two-year-olds, and the following were among those worked:—Autumnus, Winning Way, Glade, Bandore, Andrea, Athenic, Anna Carlovna, Editha, and May Dalrymple. After breakfast Floater was sent twice round at half pace, and Kilts boat Armstrong over six furlongs in lmin. 22sei». Kriss left a mile behind in lmin. 49sec., and True Ivnight and Gold Pin took lmin. SOsec. to run the same distance. Palscttia sprinted three furlongs in 3B sec.., and Topaz did a working gallop. Friwolliti and Passion together ran fivo furlongs in lmin. sseo., and Bonny Glen by himself oovcrod six furlongs in lmin. 15 3-ssec.
Full Rate galloped half a mile in 52see., and Pleasure Bent, Kimona, and Ancilla went a furlong further in lmin. ssec. Hohungatahi ran five furlongs in lmin. 5 !-ssec„ a. distant® which Early Morn left behind in lmin. Sssc. Fisticuff and Paisley together ran seven furlongs in lmin. 3Gmc., while Gasoline ami another sprinted up tho back from a barrier start. • Pippin and Art got to tho end of four furlongs on the course proper in 5 21-sscc., while Quarantine, Scottish Star, and Glenfinnan took 50sec. Pawky Lass, Northern Light, and Bonitas tnok 5350 c., and Bon Soir, Bon Ton, and Peroneal 50sec. to complete tho same distance. Other two-year-olds which were exercised at the barrier included Marcia, Nvx, Peg. Brown Owl. Taffeta, Lady Georgia, Canute, and Teviotdale. Nightlight (C. Emerson) galloped a milo anil a half in 2min. 47 i-ssec. She was assisted by Sapience (T. Cotton) over the six furlongs, and by Kohinoor (CCluskey) over tho remainder of tho journey. Nora (Cusdin) was exercised over several flights of hurdles, while Corry ran five furlongs in lmin. Bscc.

All the work done was on the sand. Antoinette covered a mile in lmin. 4Ssec. Tact beat His Eminence over half a mile in 52 3-s?oc. Soultoria and Maxwell wcto together at tho end of a round in lmin. a!) 4-ssee.; neither was ridden out. Sea liif and Sir Artcgal, with the assistance of Poicticrs in tho last seven furlongs, covered the same distance in lmin. 5G 3-jscc., the trio finishing abreast. AYaimangti pleased better than Santa Rosa at tho end of a mile in lmin. 17sec. GoldMzn aud Prince King were together at the end of four furlongs in 50 3-ss-;c. Knkama did five furlongs in lmin. 5 2-sscc. Tattoo covered the last six of seven furlongs in lmin. 23soc. Jack Delaval was not doing liis best over five, furlongs in lmin. & 3-Ssec.
