Jowett (Labour M.P. for Bradford West), Mr. Will Thome (Labour M.P. for West Ham South), and Mr. Lansbury (Labour M.P. for Tower Hamlets) have been striving before the Labour party's exccutivo to get tho party to oppose the Insurance Dill. Mr. Snowden and Mr. Lansbury were defiant. The subject was postponed.

Mr. Chamberlain and other Opposition leaders complain that amendments in tho Insurance Bill will not affcct' the class below friendly society members, and that it is a misnomer to describe the Bill as a national scheme. SHIPOWNERS PLAN TO CONTRACT OUT. (Rec. October 29, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 29. Tho Shipping Federation has promoted a scheme for contracting out of the Insurance Bill. Many conferences have been held between tilt shipowners, the seamen, and also the Treasury. The plan covors everyono connected with shipping, including seamen, dockers, and Lascars. Mr. Havelock Wilson, President of the Seamen's Union, is taking a leading hand in the movement'.
