MR. FLETCHER'S MEETING.
Sir,—ln your article this moraine, dealing on Mr. Fletcher's meeting being dull, etc., tho pooplc, or at leapt most of tho neoplc iircscnt, did not find it so, and no doubt to you it appeared uninteresting, becauso Mr. Fletcher refrained from mud slinging, and attacking liis opponent, or making- statements about ilio Opposition party, like some Opposition members are fond of doing about tho present Government. Most of those statements aro seldom half truth, and very often a whole lie. Jf tho omission of these things make a meeting dull, well, it is better so. It is not always the man with the long tongue and oily manners that has tho most brains. One tiling, Mr. Fletcher will fight a clean figlit, snd not wild promises which ho has no intention of keeping. If he is not a brilliant man, lie is better than that, ho is an earnest and right-thinking one.—l am, etc., H. WATSON. [Wo wero under the impression that Mr. Fletcher did attack his opponent, tli'ugh certainly not with any severity. Still, WC arc p'.oased to asroo with our correspondent in the belief that tho fight for tho Central seat will bo a clean ono.l
