An Australian exchange states that tho White Star Line is building for its Australian service two steamers, which will be much larger and faster than those hitherto employed. The new vessels are to supersede the older boats as quickly as possible. Officers of White Star steamers trading to Sydney are of the opinion that the new vessels will each be of about 16,0[0 tons gross register, and thus by far tho larwsit steamers ever dispatched to Australia, eclipsing the three new steamers recently ordered by the Holt Line, which are to bo between 14,000 and 15,000 tons each. The present mail steamers are about 12,0C0 tons, as also are tho larger of the White Star steamers now running.
