SALE OF SHOW STOCK.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co. draw attention to a sale of pedigree Ilolsteins which they are holding on Friday, November 3, at the show grounds, ' Palmerston North. They have had placed in their hands by the Agricultural Department of Wereroa, nine pedigreo bulls—eight yearlings, and one two-year-old—to sell 011 Friday, the third day of tho Show (November 3) at 10 a.m. Those animals aro ! by such well-known bulls as Krugei* II 1 Sir de Kol Inka Pietertje, and Von . Tromp, from very high producing dams ] including the groat cow Manola who, last < year, gave some .£3O for butter-fat, without taking into account her calf, and tho enormous amount' of milk (15,2171b.) This great record promises to be beaten by still nnot'her cow in the herd. Another well-known breeder, Mr. W. I. Lovelock, of Palmerston. has favoured the same firm with instructions to submit not only ' six yearling bulls, but also five vearlin'g j heifers. There has been great difficulty < in securing females of the breed of any j kind and, doubtless, the opportunity to obtain pedigree females will be largely 1 availed of. Sir. Lovelock has been breed- < ing • Holsteins for a great number of : years, and his stock are now well known < all over the Dominion, especially through i the fame of his champion cow, Lady of Cliffside. In addition to the consign- 1 mont mentioned, the champion bull ' Cliffside Laddie, will also be submitted. .1 This bull has quite a string of champion- ; ships to his credit, obtained in all the \ leading shows of the North Island. Mr. A. J. Gallichan, of Tiakitahuna, another f Holstein enthusiast, also lias three bulls 1 and a heifer to put' u[). Among those 1 animals are two very highly-bred bulls. Boss Butter Boy, and Sir de Kol of t Ratakanae, with a record of milk and ( butter behind them that should satisfy tho most fastidious.
