DAYLIGHT SAVING BILL.
XO CHANCE THIS SESSION. A largo deputation wliich was appointed at thn reccnl public meeting in AVellington waited upon the Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Wa.nl) yesterday to ask him, as head of (lie Government, tfllio up the New Zealand Mean Time Bill, better known as the Daylight Snving Bill, with n view to having it. passed into law this session. Mr. 'J'. IC. Sidey, M.P., the father of the Bill, introduced tho deputation. Mr. li. C. Tewsley also spoko in support of tho Bill. The Prime Minister said he was in accord with the Bill, but it had no chanco oi being put through this session. There were many other measures that they were anxious to pass, but they had io bo dropped. If it' were possible to sit' another three weeks, this Bill and others might br> gono on with. An effort was I>oinfr made to finish the session next Saturday," and member!) of Parliament knew (hat if the session lasted into next' week it would probably go on to tho end of the we?!:. He also suggested that it would bo n good tiling for Parliamentary candidates to have the opportunity of explaining tho Bill to tho constituencies.
