HOW TO STAB A TITLE. A writer in the Auckland ''Herald" says it is amusing to note how Sir J. Findlay's election committees deal with his brand-new title:—"ln Parnell they put a bold front on it. On the posters at their rooms it stands out with unashamed conspicuousness. In. Hemuera, however, they have tried to hide it as if it were something they were not proud of. This will serve to show how they do it:— Sir JOHN FINDLAY'S COMMITTEE ROOMS. "This is not only sad," tho "Herald" writer continues; "it is painful. It is not complimentary to tho King, who was moved by tho New Zoalamlcr's great and distinguished services to. tho unhappy inmates of our gaols to honour him in so signal a manner. It is not a compliment to Sir John himself, wlio is naturally proud of the title, and believes it was worthily and deservedly bestowed upon him. It is not a compliment to tho Noble Order to which he now belongs, and whoso insignia and ribbons aro now among the most precious heirlooms of his exalted House, bir John is Sir John for better or worse, and his committee have no right to belittle his title in this eon-
