BOXING.
"BILL"KUDD WINS. At the Sydney Sports Ground, on October 7, "Bill" Eudd, formerly of New Zealand, defeated "Eanji" Burns, a much heavier man. Up to a particular stage tho impression that Burns was much too good for Kudd proved correct (says the Sydney "Referee"). "Ranji" began nervously, but later completely outbosed Kudd. When Burns's left was not jabbing heavily, he was fooling Bndd's leads and returning quickly to notch weighty left hooks. His straight left, followed by a right upper-cut, were nioely calculated and well-placed blows. It was any odds on "Ranji" so far. But then Burns became careless, the thin; seemed so easy to him. Instead of back moving—and he knows well how to do that—'TJanji" stood up to a rousing right jolt, followed immediately by a left" swing which floored him for "seven." Rising, dnzed-lnoking and sagging, he did his best to fend left and right swings sent out to finish the job, but the man's strength, had not half come back, and once more did ho bump tho board?, this time to be counted out. It all happened insido one round.
