COMPETITIONS SOCIETY.
The committee of tho New Zealand Competitions Society met at tho office of tho secretary, Mr. ,Tas. Dykes, last evening. A communication was received from his Excellency the Governor, in which it was state;! that Lord Islington would permit his' signature to be attached to certificates awarded in connection with the competitions. It was decided to invite his Excellency to perform tho opening ceremony at 7.45 on the evening of October 25. Sir Joseph Ward is also to be asked to attmd. Owing to tho demand for season tickets it was decided that no sales of such bo nipde after Saturday r.t.xt. It was arranged that during the period of the competitions, members of tho committee should bo distinguishable by a badge.
