(From Out Special Correspondent.) g THE PETONE S.M. COUET. The monthly sitting of the Petone Magistrate's Court was hold at Petone yesterday morning. Dr. M'Artlnir, S.M., prosided, and Mr. D. luor, J.P., was also on tho Bench. George Te Puni, for entering licensed premises in Wellington during the currency of a prohibition order, was convicted and discharged. Tho poiico prcceoded against William Aubury on two charges—one of assaulting Robert Hancock, and the other of using .threatening behaviour in Jackson Street on Saturday night, October 7. lie pleaded guilty. . Robert Hancock was also chargod with using, on the same date,, threatening behaviour, thereby causing a breach of tho pcaoe. Ho pleaded not ■guilty. Mr. Cracroft Wilson represented both defendants. Aubury was convicted and ordered to pay costs, amounting to 205., while the information against Haincock was dismissed. Judgment for plaintiff was entered by default in the following undefended civil cases:—Price and Co. v. A. Colquhoun, £40 55., costs ,£2 125.; J. and E. Bathersby v. T. Ward, .£4 7a. 3d., costs On a judgment summons C. E. Snow was ordered to pay S. Curtis tho sum of £7 Cs. 6d. in fortnightly instalments of 55., the first payment to be made on October 30. INFECTIOUS CASES. To enable the Petone Borough Council to have direct control over cases of infectious diseases occurring in the borough, suitable arrangements have been made with the Health Department, as tho outcome of representations from the oouncil. ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES. HEART FAILURE. (By Teleera.Dh.—Press Association.) Blenheim, October IG. Mr. Richard Sparks, aged 57, employed by Messrs. Brown'.ee and Co.. sawmiliers, at Carluke, took sii'lieiily ill on Saturday afternoon and expired on tho way to tho Haveloc-k Hospital. Death was due to heart failure. HOUSE TRAINEE INJURED. Timaru, October IS. Bjr a collision between a taxi-cab and n gig at 11 o'clock on Saturday night, on a hill a mile north of the town, Edward Blackmore, a horso trainer, was seriously injured about the head and body. The gig was alleged to bo without lights, and tho collision tcok place at a sharp co/ner, almost hidden by a high hedge, lilackmoro was progressing well this morliing.
