MEETING OF THE INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION. BONUSES VOTED. Tho adjourned annual meeting of tht Wellington Provincial Industrial Association was held last evening, Mr. T. Mr. John Smith remarked that various suggestions had previously been made with regard to special payments to tho commissioners, to the secretary, and to sundry other people. The chairman said that these suggestions referred to a bonus of XlflO—or plato to the value of that amount—to the commissioners, a payment of AIOO to tho secretary (Mr. K F. Allen), and other payments to Mr. Allen's sons for special services, and Messrs. White and Shacklei'ord. Ho said that the situation was a somewhat awkward oao for him. Ho did not quite seo how they should deal with the matter. On tho motion of Mr. L. R. Partridge, it was agreed that the Commissioners and tho secretary should retire -whilo the meeting deliberated the, question. Mr. A. W. Newton thereupon took the chair, and the association went into committee. After discussion it was agreed that the three commissioners bo voted tho sum of .£IOO, in recognition of their services, to lie accepted by them in whatever form they desired, and that the secretary be voted a gratuity of XIOO, as extra payment for his services. The. association also voted a bonus to Mr. P. A. Allen, in respect of his services as secretary of tho Sports Committee, and Mr. li. Allen a bonus of 10 guineas. Messrs. White nmd Shack'otord. were voted lionuses of too. guineas and soven guineas respectively. The total bonus votsd amounted to J323S 17s. Mr. I). Robi-rUon said that the net surplus should bo invested at onco on fixed deposit. It was res-olved to place the sum of ,£I2OO at fixed deposit at 4 iwr cent. Tho election of honorary officers resulted as follows:— President, Mr. L. R. Partridge; vicepresidents, Messrs. S. S. Williams and 1?. O. Crease; general committee, Messrs. J. I). Andcmin, T. Ballingcr, A. B'.anton, A. Brown, W. Cable, S. Campbell, F. Crnbtree, L. Jones, M. Kupli, J. P. Luke, M.P., W. Martin, H. G. Mayer, W. M'Lay, A. W. Newton, G. Norton, C. Palliser, H. E«id, D. Robertson, J. Smith, A. Marriott, C. ,1. B. Norwood, K. G. S. Dejiton, E. Bull, R. Tomline, and the president for the time being of tho Wellington Bnildors' Association of Employers ; treasurer, Mr. R. J. Hardieoliaw; auditors, Messrs. A. S. Biss and A. T. Clark.. A special vote of thanks was accorded Mr. H. 11. Senton for his valuable services in the past, and aJso to tho retiring officers of the association.
