At the trial of Count Gisbcrt WolfTMetternich, sentenced to nine months' imprisonment on a ckargo of complicity with a gang of international card-sharp-ers, various acts of fraud of an ordinary typo were proved against accused. Tho paternal allowance was only thirty shillings monthly, but tho Count lived in magnificence, and squandered- money profusely. The trial has caused the press to deplore tho low morals of the idle rich. Tho prisoner threatens to deal with tho Crown Prosecutor wlieu he is released from gaol.
