Lieutenant Watkins, tho aviator, who is accompanying Dr. Mawson's Antarctic expedition, hopes to have the expedition's aeroplane, recently damaged in a trial flight at Adelaide, repaired in time for dispatch by tho Aurora, in which the party is to sail for the south about the beginning of December. MORE SUPPORT FOR DR. MAWSON. (Rec. October 12, 0.55 a.m.) Brisbane, October 11. Tho State Government has expressed its intention of standing in with the other States in supporting Dr. Mawson's Antarctic expedition. An Australian correspondent, writing after the accident, said:—"As the result of the mishap the monoplane hris been practically rendered useless. Tho tail is broken, the wings were badly strained and cracked, the propeller has gone, one of tho cylinders is smashed into pieces, and tho connection rod is bent."
