Garland, chairman of the Board of Education, has decided not to ncoopt nomination for Auckland East. It is now stated that tho Opposition will not run a candidate for that scat. RAGLAN AND WAIKATO. Young, Mayor of Hamilton, announces that ho will contest tho Wnikato seat as a Democratic Liberal. "NO HOPE OF TARTY IN POWER," Auckland, October 7. Mr. Moss, in his address last night, said ho lifld hitherto stood n« an Independent, but aftw duo consideration ho hod gono over to t!w Opposition. Ho had given up ( all hope of the pnrty in power. On tho subject of military training ho said it Koemcd necessary to have compulsion ftr con.wipl.ion. He was accorded a veto of thanks and confidence.
