October 4.The superintendent of tho Grand Junction mine cabled to London as follows:—' "CrusMnpt 3CO tons daily, actual extraction £1 7s. 6d. per ton;'arranginc to infiroase liltcrs to SCO tons. To-day Empire iode, No. 5, 9Coft.. winze 42u)., assay £7 19e. 2d.. with no walls seen." The progress report for the pa,st two weeks at the Grand Junction shows satisfactory results. ■ Shikinß. in the m:\!n shaft completed to the new level. The Mary lode has reached the Waihi Extended boundary. At No. 4 level, values £2 17s. 4d. and £1 6s. lCd.; No. 5 level, Grace lodo. worth £2 IDs.; Empire lodo. worth £7 195., and no walls seen. Other valucn on the Empire at this level, £2 10s. and £1 l'da.; ltoyal lode, between Nos. 5 and 6 levels, shows a. width of 35ft., tie. hancinK wall not beins seen. Progress: Crushed 3WO tons, yielding bullion valued at £1752, cyanided 2525 tor.o, yielding bullion valued at £920; estimated value of suiphurcts produced £555. Wi-alth of Nations: Crushed 2654 tons.' yielding bullion valued at £3501; cyanided i 029 tons, yielding bullion valued at £1069; estimated value of Eulphurets produced, £133. ■ Dlackwater: Crushed 4280 tons, yielding bullion valued at £7192; cyanided. 2577 tons, yielding bullion valued at £1196; estimated value of sulphurete produced, £325.
