MORE TAXATION THREATENED.
CAN YOU AFFORD TO PAY IT? If you vote for No-Licenso and National Prohibition you will destroy quite a number of industries, lower the value of property, throw a large number of people out of employment, and at once cut off over one million and a quarter sterling from the revenue of the country. Destruction of. industries, the throwing of people out of employment, and the lowering of the value of property is, of course, no bar to the Prohibitionist and his advocacy of No-Licenso; but will ho find you a job if through greater competition for work and the flooding of the unemployed ranks you should happen to bo ono of those that will have to look for work if No-Lieenso is carried? Moreover, will fho Prohibitionist put his hand in Jiis pocket and find tho wherewithal to wake good the loss of .£1,250,000 to tho Exchequer if you agreo with him to vote National Prohibition? No fear: tho average Prohibitionist and No-Licenso advocate will do nothing of tho kind. Ho does not mind doing no end of damage to the trade and commerce of tho country, but when it comes to mailing good tho financial loss to i]\c country ho is generally found to bo untaxablo. The work-ing-man, thercforo, in a steady job cannot, afford to jeopardise his position by voting to throw others out of employment; the ratepayer cannot afford to vote NoLiconso and run tho risk of 'his rates being increased; and tho payer of land and income, tax will certainly havo to pay more if National Prohibition is carried. You cannot afford to vote No-License. 4
