The President, M. Fallicrcs, personally visited the hospital at Toulon, and pinned tho medal of the Legion of Honour on tho breast of tho 6econd master gunner of tho Liberto, who attempted to flood tho magazine of tho vessel shortly before the explosion txjok place.
