The candidate addressed tho electors of Karori last evening and, amongst other points, dwelt at considerable length on tho National Provident Fund scheme. Mr. Henderson prosided over tho meeting which accorded a vote of t'hanks and confidence (proposnd by Mr. Woods, seconded by Mr. C. Campbell) to the candidate. HURUNUI AND TEE OPPOSITION, (By Tcleeraph.—Press Association.) Christchurch, October' i. ' Mr. D. D. Macfarlane, Opposition candidate for Hurumii; opened his campaign at Waiau on Monday night. He addressed a largely-attended meeting of electors in tho local hall, and was accorded a unanimous vote,of thanks and confidence.
