EDUCATIONAL APPOINTMENT.
PMNCIPAL GRAY GOING TO MEL-' BOUKiNK Mr. W. Gray, M.A., B.Pc, principal of tho Wellington Training College, has been selected to iill tho position of principal of Hie Presbyterian Ladies' College in Melbourne.- This college occupies a foremost place among die secondary educational institutions of Australia. It is staffed, with special teachers for classics (Greek and Latin), modern languages, science (physics, chemistry, botany, and physiology), geography, history, domestic science, muiic, and art. Ueo, -11.A., Al.Sc., formerly of Wellington College, is headmaster of the college.. Mr. tiray's now duties commence in i'cbvuary next. Mr. Gray is a native of Otago, and was educated lit Otago University, where lie graduated in tho degrees of Master of Art-s ;\nd Uiicl|f*!/ir <-l "Science. r< l (• viv.iv.'s taking a post-gradtiafo course in zoology. ]n 1800, at the ago of twenty-six, he was appointed vice-principal of the Ofaigo Teachers' Training College. In 1901 Mr. Gray was appointed headmaster of tho Palnierston North High School, and when, in 1002, the position of chief inspector under the YVanganui Education Board became- vacant, he was offered and accepted the apiwintiiiwit, which he held till 1905, when he wns appointed Principal of the Teachers' Training College at Wellington.
