MUNICIPAL MILK VENDING.
A PROTEST. Thirteen persons and firms engaged in 1 lie milk trade in Wellington Lave peti-tion-oil Parliament, through Mr. A. L. llerdman. M.F., asking to be beard against tbc proposal to municipalise the milk supply in Wellington. 'J'hey state that their connection with the business dates back over periods of from ono to '25 years, and that a la rge amount, of capital is employed, much of it special buildings ami machinery, and articles appropriate only for the purposes of Jhe milk trade. "J lie Wellington City Milk Kupplv .Act of mm was passed without them" being given an opportunity of urging objections, and they aver that if the amending Bill, which is being promoted this year, is missed, (heir businesses will be compnlsorily closed without compensation, which will involve a loss of capital to the extent of not less than .t.'iO.OOO. The petitioners nsk to be heard in opposition to the Bill, and request the Hou.se to grant them such relief by legi elation us the circumstances dmuaud.
