HOME RULE.
DEMONSTRATION IN ULSTER

An anti-Homo Rulo demonstration was held at Belfast. One hundred thousand persons marched in procession. Twenty thousand arrived by special train from all parts of Ulster. Tho Earl of Erne presided at the meeting. A resolution pledged the meeting to support Sir Edward Carson, Conservative M.P. for Dublin University, in whatever action ho might take and whatever the danger to bo faced in connection with Homo Rule. Sir Edward Carson said their first duty was to ensure that under no circumstances could any Homo Rule Bill be made effective, so far as tho Unionists of Ulster were concerned. He added that they must be prepared, should the emergoncy occur, to be accountable for tho administration of thoso districts they were entitled to control. (Cheers.) Lord Ranfurly was present. Lord Hugh Cecil, M.l'., telegraphed: "You must defend union as your ancestors defended Londonderry." CHURCH PROPERTY IN DANGER. London, September 24. Dr. Bernard, Anglican Bishop of Ossory, addressing tho Kilkenny Synod, said the Church property would be in serious danger if Home Rule were passed, unless I lie Irish Church property were explicitly excluded from tho operation of tho Bill. Catholics had repeatedly hinted that Church properties would be alienated and becomo possessions of the Roman Catholio Church.
