BortlcH, Leader of the Opposition, who has been asked to form a Ministry, states that thirty years henco tho people of Canada will look back to this election as the turning-point in its destiny. The Conservatives would endeavour to build up Canada as an autonomous nation within tho Empire. It is expected that the deferred flections will result in further defeats of tho Liberals. . Sir Wilfrid Laitrier has revised his decision to retire from politics. He lias announced that he will remain with his party for some time. He is now making preparations to quit offico immediately. Admiral Lord Charles Beresfonl, M.P., interviewed at Vancouver, congratulated Canadians on tho results of tho elections. MR. TAFT 'RESIGNED. New York, September 24. President Taft, in a speech at St. Louis, said ho was content to abide by the- result of tho Canadian elections. He regretted tho failure to pass Reciprocity, but he had besn lons enough on the Bench to know when a- final decision had been given. Mr. M'Coll, the United States Congressman who introduced the original Reciprocity' Bill, declares that a puerile annoxatioa bogy led Canada to reject as golden an opportunity as she was likely ever to hive. WHEAT MARKET RECOVERS.
