INVESTITURE.

CORONATION HONOURS.

The investiture of thoso upon whom Coronation honours were conferred took place at Government Houso yesterday. llis Excellency tho Governor (Lord Islington) performed the ceremonv in the presence of tho Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward, Bart.) and all tuo members of the Executive, except Sir John L'iudlay, who is out of town. The function took place in the ball-room at Government Houso at 12.30 11.m.. His Excellency, who was attended by Captain Shannon, A.D.G., and Mr. A. Guise (private secretary), invested the recipients with honours as follow: — _Sir James Carroll (Native Minister), K.C.M.G.; Sir Arthur Guinness (Speaker of tho House, of Representatives), Knight Bachelor; Colonel R. J. Collins (Controller and Auditor-Geuern!) and Dr. F. Fitckett (Public Trustee), C.M.G.; Mr. H. J. H Blow (Under-Secretary for Public Works) and Mr. E. Tregear (ex-Secretary for Labour), Imperial Service Order. Sir Joshua Williams, Senior Puisne Judge of the 'Supremo Court, who lias Ixen created a Knight Bachelor, was unable t'o be present through' ill'iies.*!' Sir Joseph Ward, who received 'his. baronetcy while in England, was only present as a spectator and a guest of his Excellency. The investiture of Sir John Findlay, 1C.C.J1.G., took place in England' some weeks ago. After yesterday's ceremony, the Ministers of the Crown and tho recipients of the honours were the guests of his Excellency at luncheon.
