INSURANCE CLERK'S DEATH, lily Tclejrraph —Press A^sociiitioD.l Napier, September 21. John Shcrn, aged 30, a clerk in the New Zealand Insurance Company, was found dead in tho company's office this morning, shot through the .heart by a double-barrelled gun, boih cartridges of which \yero discharged. Deceased for-: mcrlv lived in Auckland. He was a South African Contingeuter, who reso from the positioa of private ib lieutenant.
ACCIDENT ON TJLIMAROA. Yesterday morning an accident occurred on tho Ulimaroa.. A sling of timber slipped and fell on a stevedore named George Wadley, who resides at 119 Ingcstro Street. His head and arm were injured, and he was taken to the hospital, whence it is reported that he is not very seriously injured.
