NOTES AND COMMENTS. {Bt Gt.en-cok.l In view of the fact that he is such a staunch favourite for the New Zealand Cup, great interest will centre in the appearance of Colcliinder at the Hastings meeting next month. According to reports the four-year-old is not as forward as liis siipnorters would wish, and this will bo all the more against him by reason of tho fact that he is a very poor track worker. In view of these drawbacks, his traiiior will require (o race him on every opportunity during the next month, ami, even if ho does this (unions the lioi-fc. shows winning form in the near future), ho. i>; likely to see a longer price in the big Riceiirton event than is at present quolnd against him.
