MOTION PICTURES. Tho circular letter of tho Rangiora Borough Council, stating that that body had decided to approach the Government with the object of having a censorship of motion pictures established, aud asking for support in that object, was read at tho meeting of tho Onslow Borough Council Inst night. Councillor Lynncberg: "I move as an amendment that we fall in with tho idea of the letter, and I think it is only right wt> should press it upon the Government. 1 have not been to many picture shows —1 admit that—but I think thero havo been pictures shown which are not fit for our growing population. Tliey are all ri?ht for grown men aud women, but not for the young. You ses the idea over in the United States " The Mayor (Mr. F. Holdsworth): I daresay it is necessary in the United States. "Something should be done for the young ones," said a councillor. Tho amendment was carried by 5 votes to 3.
