FORECAST AND SUMMARY. i Present indications are for a rising barometer everywhere, with southern and south-easterly winds, strong to gale, generally. Cold and showery weather will probably continue, especially on the Eastern Coasts of both islands. . Southerly vrinds, strong to gale, hare Si'ovailed in most parts of- the country, 'uch rain has fallen in many parta of the Dominion, with snow on higher levels in the 6OUth. . Wanganui, September 19.—A cold, wintry day, with a howling southerly gale, but little rain; very heavy eea. Fcilding, September 19.-l!ainy and very cold day; threatening and cold night. Palnierstou, September 19.—Splendid rains foil last night and this morning. Tho atmosphere has now turned much colder. Shannon, September 19.—After a hea-vy night's rain, the weather is bow fine and Uti'lii, September 19-Fine, but windy; rainfall to 9 a.m., 1.40 in. • Garterton, September 19.-Hea.vy rain, with wind from the south, has been falling since Monday, and.'at the time of writing, there is little prospects of clearing. • Fcatherston. September 19.-Strong southerly wind and rain. , . Jlasterton, September 19-Southerly gales all day; 43 point 3 of rain up till six o clock to-night; heavy showers at intervals. Hastinss. September 19.-Heavy rain fell again last night. To-day nae been dull and cold. '
