RETURN OF MR. R, H. RHODES,
Mr. Hen ton Rhodes, M.P., and Mrs. Rhodes returned from London by the Rotorua yesterday. Mr. Rhodes loo!: his seat in the House, and Mrs. Rhodes, who has been greatly benefited in health, was present in the, Ladies' Gallery during the evening. Mr. Rhodes was one of tho few members of the New Zealand Parliament who were entertained by the Lords and Commons Committee at (lio time of the Coronation, and ho speaks in terms of praiso generally in resard to the hospitality showered upon overseas visitors to London at that time. He mentions that New Zealand's move in the matter of compulsory military training was favourably commented upon in many quarters at Home, but ho thinks the system is still a Ion" way off in Great Britain.
