Letter-boxes with electric bells are being erected in Paris, in consequence of the thefts of letters, which liavo been of frequent occurrence. When tho flap which covers the slit in the box is moved the bell rings.
A deep-rooted objection to wearing breeches on tho part of a boy aged two years and eight months was described at an inquest at Camberwell, S.E., on the lioy Leonard Valentine, who died from the effects of a fall. The boy's, mother, wife of a motor-cleaner living at Rothorhithc New Road, S.E., said the child was a bright and happy little boy until she put him into breeches tour months ago. lie did not like knickerbockers and pined for his petticoats. 'He was never himself offer that, but' as ho had got to be breeched at some or other she did not give kirn back hie frocks.
