EXPLOSION ON S.S. BREEZE.
PECULIAR THEORY. (By Tolegraph.-l'rcss Association.) Dunedin, September 18., An explosion of benzino occurred on (ho steamer Breeze nt l'ort Chalmers to-day by which four men were slightly burned about tile faces ami hands. Tho men were Fred llolden, \V. Harrisoii, Morpan Coitill, and Patrick Iloaloy, Tho last-named was injured slightly worse than the others. 11: is stated (bat no benzine had bocn carried on board for a long time, but it is surmised that, on some previous occasion, some benzine leaked into iho bilges and remained there in tho form of vapour. The flames wore' quickly, subdued, and no dainago was dono to Iho vessel.
