SATISFACTORILY SETTLED.
ELECTRICAL WORKERS' DISPUTE. Tho dispute between the Electrical Workers' Union and the City Council was satisfactorily settled at tho meeting of the Tramways Committee yesterday afternoon. when a conference took place between the representative of the corporation's overhead linesmen (Mr. Noot) and the committee, resulting in an agreement being arrived at on the basis of modified demands. T'litso will form the subject of recommendations from the committee to the council at next Thursday's meeting. On behalf of the men, Mr. >ioot acknowledged the thoroughness with which (ho committee had gone into tho various matters submitted by tho union, and expressed himself as being highly satisfied that a settlement had been readied so amicably. The Mayor (Mr. T. M. Wilford) said that whenever any representatives of the corporation employees came to the. council and discussed their claims in a friendly way, reasonably, and without extravagance, they would find tho council perfectly willing to hear thein aud talk over matters with tliom.
